QUANTUM is a four year-long project, lasting until December 2019. The goal of the project is to develop and demonstrate pragmatic services and appropriate tools with high replication potential supporting quality management (QM) for building performance in the design, construction, commissioning and operation phase as a means to close the gap between predicted and actual energy performance in European buildings.
The gap in building performance is not caused by a lack of technology or conceptual intelligence but by a lack of quality.
This project will apply three innovative ICT‑driven tools to enable effective quality management in all relevant services within the building life cycle.
- HPS/NG9 (by Energy Team, Italy)
Cost effective and easy to install in-situ energy metering devices with online data analysis
- Performance Test Bench (by SYNAVISION, Germany)
First tool for the specification and automated validation of BMS functions using Active Functional Specifications (AFS)
- Comfortmeter (by Factor4, Belgium)
First completely web-based questionnaire for perceived user comfort
The core mechanism is to “design for testability” by specifying transparent performance targets with cost effective testing methodologies.
Free webinar on Quality Management within Building Commissioning
QUANTUM, REHVA and BUILDUP will organise a webinar on solutions and strategies for quality (and data) management in new buildings, focusing in particular on the Building Commissioning Process. The webinar will start at 14:00 on Thursday 27 April 2017 and it will be hosted by BUILDUP platform.
At Vienna BauZ!, a workshop on how "Measuring success, ensuring quality" of building performances
At BauZ! (Vienna Congress for Sustainable Building), the workshop "Measuring success, ensuring quality" will introduce and trigger the discussion on one of the best practices available to guarantee building performances.
BAU 2017: meet QUANTUM partners
Information on QUANTUM will be available during all days of BAU 2017, in addition to a dedicated presentation during the workshop
